About MHG
MHG is based in Schmalkalden, Germany, which is famous for producing hand tools since the medieval times.
Hand tool production in fact has ruled the economy life of Schmalkalden for decades, and still today is the most important economic factor of this city. Using up-to-date forging and hardening technologies, MHG is producing branded tools for professional wood workers. By using high-grade steel, hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 61, MHG chisels will retain their keen edge very long.
- MHG’s new series of chisels have an oiled wood handle - a feature many wood workers have been waiting for from this manufacturer.
- The new series is manufactured using a new forging process, which adds significantly to the toughness and elasticity of the blade, and allows for a surprisingly long-lasting edge.
- Through a combination of compression and heat treatment, the alloy-steel blades attain a level of performance that was up till now difficult to find outside of the highest-end hand-forged tools. The blades are hardened to 61 HRC (+/- 1) along their entire working length.
Juggernaut Handtools and Workwear is the first company in New Zealand to be selling these quality tools.
